GIRONA
The area around Girona has been occupied since before Roman times. It is with good reason that recently the town was the backdrop for Game of Thrones.
You can get there from our house in under 15 minutes. The town is very old and it is lovely to walk through the intact neighbourhoods. Every corner has a surprise in store and the various levels are bridged by winding steps. And once you are tired from shopping and walking there is a wide selection of terraces and restaurants awaiting you.
